Travel Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival & Preparation [Guwahati]

Morning: Arrival in Guwahati. Transfer to the hotel/base camp.
Afternoon: Bike Handover & Test Rides. Ensure every rider is comfortable with their machine.
Evening: Technical Checkup. Final inspection of tyres, chains, and brakes.
Night: Ride Briefing. Discussion on formation riding, hand signals, and safety protocols for high-altitude zones.

Day 1: Guwahati To Bomdila Via Bhairavkunda-Shergaon [~255 KM, 8 Hrs]

The Route: Start early to beat city traffic. Head towards Bhairavkunda, the tri-junction of Bhutan, Assam, and Arunachal.
Highlights: Bhutan Border: A quick stop at the border gates for photos.
The Climb: Enter Arunachal Pradesh. The road starts twisting a s you climb towards the Kameng region.
Night: Stay in Bomdila (8,000 ft).

Day 2: Bomdila To Thembang To Dirang To Sela Pass To Jang [-155 KM, 7Hrs]

The Route: A scenic but demanding ride through the clouds.
Highlights:
Mandala Top: Visit the 108 Buddhist stupas arranged in a circle.
Thembang Heritage Village: A stop at this fortified village (UNESCO tentative site)
Sela Pass (13,700 ft): The gateway to Tawang. Expect sub-zero temperatures and high-altitude winds.
Night: Stay in Jang (closer to the falls, quieter than Tawang)

Day 3: Jang To Chuna-Mago To Gongkarla Lake & Tawang Via Jang [~160 KM Round Trip, 9 Hrs]

The Route: This is the ‘Technical Day.” The road to Mago/Chuna is extreme off-roading.
Highlights: Nuranang (Jang)
Waterfalls: A massive 100m drop. Chuna-Mago
Valley: Unexplored, raw Himalayan beauty.
Gongkarla Lake: A high-altitude sacred lake at 15,500 + ft. The final stretch is pure gravel and rock.
Night: Move to Tawang (10,000 ft) for the stay.

Day 4: Tawang Local Sightseeing [Rest & Culture][70 KM, 6 Hrs]

Morning: Tawang Monastery. The second-largest in the world.
Afternoon: Tawang War Memorial. Pay respects to the 1962 heroes.
Local Exploration: Ride to the Chegzam Iron Bridge (built in the 15th century).
Sangester Lake (Madhuri Lake): Formed by an earthquake, famous for its sunken trees.
Evening: Free time to explore Tawang Market.

Day 5: Tawang Border Area Sightseeing [~160 KM Round Trip, 8 Hrs]

The Route: High-altitude mountain loops.
Highlights: Bumla Pass: The Indo-China border (Permit required).
Chumi Gyatsye (Holy Waterfalls): A sacred site near the LAC.
Night: Stay in Tawang.

Day 6: Tawang To Dirang [~160 KM, 6 hrs]

The Route: Backtrack through Sela Pass, descending into the lush Dirang valley.
Highlights:
Dirang Monastery: Known as Thupsung Dhargye Ling.
Hot Spring: Relax your muscles in the natural sulfur springs near Dirang.
Night: Stay at Dirang.

Day 7: Dirang To Kaziranga [~230 KM 7 Hrs]

The Route: A long descent from the mountains back into the plains of Assam.
Highlights: Transition from alpine forests to tropical grasslands.
Night: Stay near the Kohora or Bagori range in Kaziranga.

Day 8: Kaziranga To Guwahati [~165 KM 5 Hrs]

Morning: Kaziranga Elephant Safari. Early morning (5:30 AM) is best for spotting the One-Horned Rhino.
Afternoon: Final leg of the ride. Smooth AHI (Asian Highway 1) back to Guwahati.
Evening: Return bikes and trip wrap-up.

Payment Policy

  • Booking Deposit: A non-refundable and non-adjustable advance payment of INR 10,000 per person is required to confirm your booking.
  • Second Payment: 50% of the total tour cost must be paid at least 45 days prior to the trip departure date.
  • Final Settlement: The remaining balance must be fully paid at least 30 days prior to the trip departure date.

Cancellation

  • More than 45 Days Prior: Cancellations made more than 45 days before the trip departure date are eligible for a 70% refund.
  • 30 to 45 Days Prior: Cancellations made between 30 and 45 days prior to departure will receive a 50% refund.
  • Within 30 Days: Cancellations made less than 30 days before the trip departure date are non-refundable.
  • Shared Bike Policy: For double-sharing bookings (1 bike for 2 riders), if one rider cancels for any reason, the remaining rider must upgrade to a solo ride package.
  • Booking Advance: The initial booking deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.
  • Payment Terms: Failure to clear pending balances on time may result in the automatic cancellation of your trip.

We plan all travel arrangements well in advance, making changes unlikely. However, in the event of Force Majeure, HimalayanXplorer reserves the right to modify, revise, or cancel itineraries, or offer alternative dates before or during the trip.

We will notify travellers of any alterations at the earliest possible date. Any additional costs arising from these changes must be borne directly by the traveller, and no refunds will be issued for cancellations or adjustments caused by Force Majeure events.

A Force Majeure Event refers to any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of HimalayanXplorer. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Acts of nature, public enemies, or acts of terrorism
  • Accidents, explosions, fires, storms, earthquakes, floods, or droughts
  • Strikes, lockouts, labor disputes, riots, sabotage, or perils of the sea
  • Wars (declared or undeclared), embargoes, or casualty events
  • Delays in visa or permit processing, government actions, or changes in laws, regulations, orders, and decrees

Terms and Conditions

  • Members must strictly adhere to all rules and regulations at all times.
  • Members must follow all instructions given by the group captain and tour guide without deviation.
  • Motorcycles must be ridden safely and in full compliance with local traffic laws and state guidelines.
  • Riders are solely responsible for their own safety on the road.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.
  • Members are expected to maintain utmost respect toward local residents and officials at all times.
  • Repeated failure to comply with instructions from the group leader or guide may result in immediate cancellation of the trip without any refund.
